From a biochemical perspective, corn is rich in vitamins and minerals necessary for the human body. These pills contain carbohydrates, essential and fatty oils, carotene, resins, alkalis, ascorbic acid, vitamins K, B1, B2, E, C, P, PP, phosphorus, potassium, fluorine, molybdenum, copper, iodine and other useful substances.

Scientific research results indicate the high biological and nutritional value of this plant, making it an indispensable food product. Of course, its main application is the food industry, but in addition, this culture is also widely involved in medicine and industrial production of paints, varnishes, synthetic fibers and rubber substitutes. Plant parts of the plant are used to produce paper, building materials and additives to improve soil quality. From the cobs, they make raw materials for the production of nylon and plastic.

Given the high value of these grains worldwide, corn occupies about 132 million hectares of cultivated area, and the annual yield of grains in this most important agricultural crop is over 450 million tons, producing less than 10% of wheat.

Ukraine is one of the world’s 15 largest producers of these grains, ranking 10th in production. In Ukraine, this plant is grown in all regions of the soil and climate, the main crops are located in Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovograd, Kiev, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Nikolaev, Odessa and Sumy.

Over the past two years, in Ukraine, crops have increased by 2 million hectares. This is part of the grain program of Ukraine, under which half the grain produced in Ukraine will become corn grain.

It is worth noting that this crop is the most important material in Ukrainian agricultural exports: according to statistics in our country, the sale of corn abroad accounts for two-thirds of grain exports in general.
